FIGHT!!!

A new game in the Mortal Kombat franchise is coming, and boy does it look promising.

“Mortal Kombat X” is set to be released sometime in 2015, according to NetherRealm Studios creative director Ed Boon.

The announcement trailer for the game was released today showing age-old rivals Sub-Zero and Scorpion brutally going at each others throats yet again (you can watch it below).

The caption on the video says, “Fueled by next-gen technology, Mortal Kombat X combines unparalleled, cinematic presentation with dynamic gameplay to create an unprecedented Kombat experience.” This “experience” can be seen in the video’s  slow-mos of bones breaking as well as hinting at interactive environments that players can use during combat. Multiple sources have also said that players will be able to use older versions of their favorite characters.

According to IGN, Mortal Kombat X will be released on PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3, and PC. More info about the game will be released during E3 this year.
